Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is… pause.

This Mother’s Day, something clicked for me.

At Tahoe Flow, we hosted a beautiful, grounding Mother’s Day event, gentle yin yoga, an aerial hammock sound bath, and a group tarot reading. It was one of those rare moments where time felt soft, like the world was giving permission to just be.

And right in the middle of it, swinging in that aerial hammock, surrounded by calm, something dropped in.

The tarot cards pulled carried a message: “slow down to speed up.”
And I felt that truth hit me straight in the chest.

I’d been mulling over this idea for weeks, that it’s in moments of stillness when real clarity arrives. You know, like how our best ideas seem to show up in the shower or on a walk or right when we’re trying to fall asleep?

That’s not a coincidence.
That’s your brain finally getting a quiet moment to connect the dots.

Stillness Isn’t Stagnation

In a world that glorifies grinding, producing, and constantly pushing forward, rest can feel like a luxury, or worse, laziness.

But what if it’s actually the gateway to alignment?

What if rest is where we gather wisdom for the road ahead?

What if doing less sometimes gives us the space to make decisions that are more intentional, more creative, and more true?

Because here’s the thing—progress doesn’t always mean doing more.
Sometimes it means pausing. Looking around. Recalculating.
Balance isn’t a destination, it’s a constant series of micro-adjustments.

And Then… An Idea

While suspended in sound and stillness, a thought popped into my head, something that had been circling in the background but finally landed.

How do I get a bunch of goofball kids to focus, learn, and actually enjoy playing, even when they’re losing?

I already coach my son’s Little League team. And let’s be real, it’s a great group of kids, but keeping them engaged and present? Not always easy. Losing game after game isn’t fun for anyone.

And then I remembered something from when I played Pony Softball:
Our coach gave us pins for every home run.
It was simple, motivating, and so effective.

What if I brought something like that into our team culture?
A fun, positive reward system, not for being perfect, but for showing up with effort, focus, and heart?

The idea’s not fully formed yet, but the spark is there.
And it came, not from pushing, grinding, or forcing, but from a quiet moment of reflection.

That’s the power of stillness. It gives us space to listen. To connect the dots.
To see a challenge not as a wall, but as a creative opportunity.

So, what’s the takeaway?

✨ You don’t have to earn your stillness.
✨ Rest isn’t weakness, it’s strategy.
✨ Tarot, astrology, sound healing… whether you believe in their magic or not, they can be powerful tools for self-reflection, awareness, and curiosity, and that’s never a bad thing.

You don’t have to make life decisions because Mercury is in retrograde.
But if something nudges you to slow down, listen inward, or consider a different path, follow that for a minute. See what you hear in the silence.

Because stillness doesn’t mean stopping.
It means aligning before you leap.

What’s one small pause you can take this week to check in with yourself?

A breath? A walk? A single yoga pose with your phone in another room?

Let that be your permission to stop grinding long enough to see what’s been waiting for you.

With love, reflection, and a little cosmic curiosity,
Coach Christine
